Timing
Best Time of Year to Paint Your Home in Central Florida
Published June 2026 · Painting Service Co.
In Central Florida, timing isn’t a detail — it decides how long the coat lasts. The sun, the humidity, and the afternoon storms all work against a finish that goes on at the wrong moment. Paint at the right time and it protects your home for years. Rush it, and you’ll be repainting sooner than you should.
Spring (March – May): The Sweet Spot
Spring is widely considered the best time for both interior and exterior painting. Temperatures are mild (usually 70–85°F), humidity is lower, and rain is less frequent than summer. Paint dries properly and you get excellent adhesion.
Fall (September – November): Excellent Alternative
After the summer rains ease up, fall offers another great window. Cooler temperatures help with exterior work, and you avoid the peak humidity of July and August.
Summer: Possible with the Right Approach
We do paint in summer, but we use specialized high-performance coatings designed for Florida heat and humidity. Morning starts and careful scheduling help us work around storms.
Winter: Great for Interiors
December through February is perfect for interior work. You can keep windows closed and control the environment. Exterior work is still possible on warmer days.
Quick Recommendation
- Exterior: Best in spring or fall
- Interior: Any time, winter is ideal
- Full home: Plan for spring if possible
